đ Pasture-Raised Chickens Available Now
From our land, to your hands.
Hi friends,

Weâve got whole pasture-raised chickens available nowâ$6/lb, average 3â5 lbs. But I wanted to share a bit more than a price tag.
These birds come from hereâfrom our land, from our hands. We raise them from day-old chicks, soft and yellow and curious. They grow up on pasture, moved across fresh grass, shaded by shrubs and trees, foraging wildflowers, bugs, and the scraps from our organic garden. We feed them local organic grain, but their favorite treats are always the ones the kids toss in: bolted lettuce, cucumber peels, calendula petals, lambâs quarters. Our children help water them, collect eggs from the layers nearby, and remind us to stop and look when the chicks do something funny.
We process them here on the farm. Itâs quiet work. No trucks, no long rides. Itâs one bad moment, and we honor it. Every bird is handled with care and respect. It's not lost on us what it means to take a life so others can be nourished. We donât take that lightly.
When illness shows upâand it does, sometimesâwe treat herbally. Oil of oregano. A splash of apple cider vinegar. Reishi extract from mushrooms we grew ourselves. Weâve bandaged wings. Splinted a leg or two. They are meat birds, yesâbut that doesn't mean their days should be filled with anything less than the full dignity of care.
Their lives are short, but they are real lives. Lived on real land. Under sky and stars and the watchful eyes of kids with dirt under their fingernails.
If youâd like to purchase one (or a few), reply to this email or message us. Weâll coordinate a pickup timeâno drop-ins, please. Payment can be made via Venmo @thirdgreatfarm or cash at pickup.
We also have eggs availableâ$6/dozen. If youâre already coming out, you might as well take a few home.
Thanks for supporting the slow and the simple.
With gratitude,
Appy (mom)
